IGCSE- International General Certificate of Secondary Education (grade 9 &10) This is an examination by the University of Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE). The IGCSE is now one of the most internationally recognized and accepted qualification for 14 to 16 year olds. It is also widely accepted by top universities and employers worldwide. Cambridge. A Level is an Advanced level and AS Level is Advanced Subsidiary Level. AS/A Levels are a specialized program in which students ideally take up to three subjects but outstanding students may take up to five subjects. AS Level contains half the content of A Level. This gives students the flexibility to complete AS Level in their own way. Some subjects can be started at AS Level and extended to A Level. Students can take the assessment for their full A Level at the end of the second year. AS & A Level examinations are held twice a year in June and November. Results are published in August and January. This syllabus fosters thorough knowledge and detailed understanding of subjects while encouraging reasoning abilities and critical thinking skills. This is one main reason why colleges and universities worldwide, including India’s top universities, have recognized and accepted the program. Cambridge International A Level is reported on a grade scale from A* (highest) to E (minimum required performance). Whereas, there is no A* grade for Cambridge International AS Levels, reported from grades A to E. Each subject is graded separately and separate certificates are issued for each examination series.
